Red yarn for heart (or whatever colour your heart will be). Size 4 worsted weight - my preferred brand is Impeccable by Loops and Threads

Contrasting colour for the back square - size 4, worsted weight. Using a shiny yarn will give a fancy look to the coaster. I used Soft and Shiny by Loops and Threads in Grey.
