Description
Heaven's Halo has gone through many transitions, and the pattern is finally releasing a year after I first got the yarn! The yarn was initially used to make a sweater but the pattern I used didn't have an accurate gauge and the yarn used for the pattern had been discontinued. After my favorite cardigan was accidentally hung to dry and got very stretched out, I figured it was time for another cardigan!
The easiest part of this pattern is the math! In addition to suggested stitch counts, this also includes a link to a stitch/yardage calculator to help you customize this piece to your liking :D I would say that the most difficult part of this pattern was explaining how to knit in a magic loop, so be sure to check out the Youtube tutorial to watch me give detailed instructions!
Out of all my patterns, this is actually my first for knitting on needles! The techniques are simple; with knowledge of how a knit garment works, how to seam together panels to make the body of a cardigan, and very basic hand sewing (and potential crochet skills), you'll be able to recreate this cardigan to your specific and personalized size in about 3 weeks! (This includes time to stretch and relax your hands; you'll need it!)
Kindly take a look at my copyright statement on the last page of this pattern. Please respect my copyright to support my work and help me carry on with my fiber creations. If you decide to post pictures or videos of your finished cardigan, please link back to this pattern, tag me @SeamsbySky, and use the hashtag #HeavensHaloCardigan. I'd love to see how yours turns out!
Before we get started, here's some more things you'll need to know: The model in the pictures above is wearing a size small, but she is usually between a size small and medium. The cardigan fits with some positive ease. This pattern is written in US terms and in inches.
Level of difficulty: beginner/confident beginner
Skills required:
Basic knitting skills, basic knowledge of knitting stitches (knit, purl, stockinette stitch, ribbing, ssk, k2tog, kfb, magic loop, binding off), basic hand sewing skills

To make Heaven@qs Halo Cardigan you will need: 6-8 balls of Divina OR a similar light worsted weight yarn. You can also use 2 strands of mohair and another strong sport/dk yarn held together to achieve the fuzzy effect that Divina has. Amount of yarn depending on sizes have been calculated for you here at a 21 inch length: you will need 6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8) balls of Divina OR 920.655 (881.295, 973.2375, 1009.57375, 1061.43875, 1134.3675, 1181.9275, 1276.8425, 1307.33625) yards of yarn*NOTE: I@qm much shorter than the average height, so if you@qd like to knit a longer cardigan, or if you feel you may need more yarn, I suggest buying one more than the number of skeins needed*NOTE #2: this is an easily customizable pattern, so you can use a different weight of yarn! When using the stitch calculator, be sure to adjust your gauge stitches and yarn information before inputting your measurements. At the end of the calculator, you will find that it also tells you how many yards and skeins you@qll need for your cardigan :), 12 grams/31 yards of Hobbii Metallico or a similar light worsted yarn to make the ties for the sleeves, Tapestry needle, scissors, measuring tape/ribbon, Optional, choose one depending on how you@qd like to make the ties for the sleeves: An I-cord maker: i-cords can be hand knit on double pointed needles, but it will take a long time to make them; i-cord machines expedite the process, Optional, choose one depending on how you@qd like to make the ties for the sleeves: Crochet hook in size US H/5mm to make a chain, Optional, choose one depending on how you@qd like to make the ties for the sleeves: Two strips of tulle/a lightweight fabric.
