Description
Meet Isla our Mermaid! She is ready to go on any adventure with a child! She is sure to delight any little girl who just loves mermaids. My daughter Bella just had to have her the second I finished her! I believe she will bring delight, fun, and adventure to your little girl!
This sweet mermaid is a quick and easy pattern, and you can easily customize her in any colors you like! This pattern would also make an excellent addition to your craft show inventory this holiday season.
This snuggable mermaid makes a lovely birthday, Christmas, or baby shower gift. She would also fit into your childs stocking very easily as well.
Special note: If you are giving this cute mermaid to a child under 3, please embroider the eyes instead of using safety eyes for safety reasons.
Layout:
All of my patterns feature the same consistent layout which is easy to read and understand in US American terms. It is easy to find all the information you need to make this project. It lists materials, gauge, size, pattern key, any special stitches, notes, and then the pattern instructions and assembly. The pattern includes photo tutorials throughout the pattern.
Experience Level: Advanced Beg./Intermediate
Size:
When you are finished, your adorable mermaid should measure approximately 18" Long x 10" wide x 3" tall.
Pattern Key:
SC - Single Crochet
Sc2tog - Single Crochet decrease
Sl st - slip stitch
FO - Finish Off
St(s) - Stitch/stitches
Ch - Chain
Rnd(s) - Round/Rounds
BLO - back loop only
RS - Right Side
Special Stitches
Single Crochet Decrease (SC2TOG)
Insert hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. (2 loops on the hook) Insert hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop. (You should have 3 loops on your hook now.) Yarn over, and pull yarn through all 3 hoops.
Notes: (Ribblr)
Read through the entire pattern first.
The head is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join while making the head. Use stitch markers to know where your first stitch in the round is.
Beginning chain does not count as a stitch throughout pattern.
Sl St does not count as a stitch throughout the pattern.
Repeat stitches between * and * around.
I used safety eyes. As an alternative, you can use embroidery or crochet eyes.
I used rubber bands on the ends of my pigtail braids. I also used buttons to add to the top of the braids. This is totally optional. You can style hair however you like!
