Description
I'm happy to introduce, Jenny the Happy Cow! She is my very first pattern to write out. I had a lot of fun creating her and I hope you do too!
This pattern is for personal use. Please do not copy, share, or redistribute. You are welcome to sell finished items made from this pattern.
This pattern is shown in three color variants. Brown & Cream with a sunflower, Black & White with a red blossom and White and Black with purple blossom.
Finished size: approx. 13 inches tall, from the top of her horns to her seated position. Usin a 5.0 hook
It is made with a left handed crochet technique so it will be mirrored for right handed crocheters.
Skill level: Intermediate
Notes on eyes: 30 mm eyes may vary depending on your stitch tension. The super glue, sectioned eyelashes, and tweezers are for adding lashes to the safety eyes. Skip them if you already have a favorite set of lashed safety eyes.
Hook substitution: This pattern can also be worked with a 5.5 mm hook. Keep in mind you will need more yarn and Jenny will turn out slightly bigger.
Stitches & Abbreviations
RN =Round
SL=Slip stitch
BLO=Back loop only
FPSC=Front post single crochet
SC=Single crochet
DEC=Decrease
TRC=Triple crochet
CH=Chain
INC=Increase
DC=Double crochet
Seamless SC color change: Begin like a normal SC. Insert into the chain space, with the color you are currenly working, yarn over and pull through. Yarn over with the new color and finish the SC with it.
Color codes: Color changes are marked ChgA (Black) and ChgB (White).
Joining: After every round, SL into the starting stitch, ch 1, and continue. The chain does not count as a stitch.
IMPORTANT: stacking increases & decreases: Increases and decreases are stacked in this pattern. On rounds with an inc and rounds with no inc or dec, your first counted stitch is worked into the joining sl space. But on a dec round, skip the joining stitch. Instead, at the end of the row, work into the joining stitch of the last round. Otherwise the spots will all shift and won't line up properly.
