Description
Nothing says geek chic like a handknit tie! I was inspired to design this one by patterns I found in a vintage knitting book. This narrow wool-blend tie is knit in a linen stitch, which makes a handsome reversible fabric - it has a flat, woven-looking front and a textured back that resembles seed stitch. I designed this tie with pointed ends and with a little extra length, so it works particularly well for tall wearers.
Supplies:
Pair US 5 knitting needles
1 ball Lion Brand Wool-Ease (80% acrylic, 20% wool; 197yds/180m)
Yardstick (useful for getting an accurate length measurement)
Weaving needle
Abbreviations:
k - knit
p - purl
RS - right side
WS - wrong side
sl - slip
wyif - with yarn in front
wyib - with yarn in back
kfb - knit front and back increase
ssk - slip, slip, knit decrease
k2tog - knit two together decrease
p2tog - purl two together decrease
