Description
Introduction to the pattern
Late summer evening sweater is a perfect project for beginners and fellow crocheters, especially if you have 2 evenings to spare and loads of yarn leftovers that you're not about to waste.
Pattern only includes stitches that are beginner-friendly, mostly double crochet, which works up quickly due to stitch height and it shouldn't take too long to finish.
Pattern does not require a lot of sewing, as cuffs, ribbing and neckline is worked on top of your sweater and sewing is only needed along the seam of sweater sides, shoulders, and sleeve.
Pattern includes sizes from S-XL, however it can be made to measure, meaning it will fit you or your loved one and will be perfect size, just follow the notes after each section if you prefer made to measure rather than premade sizing.
Lastly, as this pattern is made to allow you to use up your yarn scraps and leftovers, it will not have instructions on when to switch colours so you can be creative and create colour pallete yourself! If you wish to create similar colour switching pattern, do about row and half (not exactly) for each colour to create random colour ending effect.
I hope you enjoy the process of making your late summer evening sweater!
Notes
Pattern is written is size S (M, L XL). As an example:
R1: Ch 61 (65, 69, 73), Dc 60 (64, 68, 70), Ch 1 and turn. (60, 64, 68, 72)
R1 for size S will be 60 Dc, for M 68, 70 for L and 76 for XL.
Decrease stitch is made when you need to make 1 stitch out of one, and in this pattern, you will need to do few of the double crochet decreases.
Double crochet decrease is yarn over and go into stitch, pull up a loop (3 loops on your hook), yarn over and pull through first 2 on your hook (2 left) and leave it. Yarn over, go into next stitch and pull up a loop (4 loops on your hook), yarn over and pull through first two, yarn over and pull through last 3 loops to finish off.
Number in brackets at the end of each row indicates count number of stitched you should have for that row.
Ch 1 at the end never counts as a stitch, and when you Ch 1 for the row where are double crochets throughout the row, you will need to insert your first double crochet of the row starting in the first stitch.
Pattern is worked with 5mm hook and cuffs, bottom ribbing and neckline worked with 4mm hook.
