She’s dressed for the season in a pointed hat with a zesty orange band, a cosy purple dress with a picot hem, and a pair of sturdy lavender boots with buttoned cuffs. Underneath, she has frilly matching knickers and stripy teal and orange legs, because every good witch needs a secret bit of fun. No witch is complete without her essentials. Lavender carries a little satchel with a toggle fastening, just the right size for her spell book, and she has a trusty broomstick with golden bristles for getting around. With her long, wild lavender hair and rosy cheeks, she is more cuddly than spooky and will happily spend the season on your shelf, or in the arms of a little trick-or-treater. Safety first: Anyone dealing with children will know they like to figure out the ins and outs of their toys and usually end up chomping on parts or pulling bits apart. Please ensure all pieces and buttons are firmly attached to reduce the risk of choking (depending on the age of your recipient!) The yarn used for Lavender is an affordable acrylic yarn. This yarn can easily be substituted with your favourite DK brand. How to use this pattern: This pattern is worked flat on straight needles and then the pieces are seamed and stuffed. At times, various different parts will need to be seamed together to construct the final toy. My preferred method of cast on for toys is the cable cast on method, which creates a smooth, even edge that makes sewing up much easier. The number at the end of each row is what you should have on the needle once that row is finished. This will allow you to check for stray stitches in an instant! Feel free to knit this pattern as many times as you want. You are welcome to sell the items you create at markets, in your store, or anywhere else.
