--Snake Lore--
Banished from the haven that sheltered the dead. Snowflier was heartbroken. She fell from the cosmos, and landed with a great tremor that shook the earth and sea. She thought to herself. "What could I have done to upset the great master of the heavens." She looked up at the sky solemnly and saw all the stars and galaxies that were existing there. "I must make it up to Master that I am still worthy to be a haven guard". Snowflier slithered north for some hours and came to a burrow in the ground. She squiggled inside it, she was met by a rattlesnake. "What in the plains are you doing here." Said the rattlesnake. "I don't know actually." Snowflier unfolded her wings slightly and gracefully flipped to the exit. "Now wait just a sec." Snowflier turned around. The rattlesnake looked very shocked to see a snake with wings. "I have never seen your kind before, you must be a haven guard, no snake has as bright scales as you, or wings." Snowflier was beginning to trust the rattlesnake. But everyone in the plains knew that rattlesnakes could not be trusted. "I am a haven guard, banished actually. But how did you know." "Everyone felt that earthquake that you created, everyone knows that celestial things crash down on the land." "Does anyone know how I can get back up to the Stars though." The rattlesnake looked shifty now. "Just fly up to the stars no matter how tired you are. Keep going higher." Snowflier said thank you and slithered out of the burrow. She chose a spot to fly. She jumped with all her force, but she instead fell to the earth. She realized that her ability to fly was taken from her.
"*Sigh* flight will be of no use, I will just have to find a way to get up there, by slithering on the ground. The rattlesnake came out of his burrow. "How come you are not in the sky." "My power to fly has been taken from me. I must have lost my halo somewhere when I landed." The rattlesnake saw in the distance, a shimmering, golden light. "Is that your halo over there." Snowflier looked toward it. "How could I not see that, I guess I am just used to Shimmering things all the time." The rattlesnake sighed. Snowflier took off, slithering as fast as she could, when she arrived at the crater, she noticed it was just some essence left over from her crash. She came back over to the rattlesnake. It is not it. The rattlesnake spoke. "Sorry for my bad manners, my name is Veur' aeta. Most well known merchant in all the land. I can make you a replacement halo. "Really!" Snowflier thought that only the haven smiths could forge a halo. It required haven gemstones and the finest, purest gold. "For a price." Said Veur' aeta. "What can I pay you Veur' aeta." "Some of those feathers on your wing, about 5, and some of your scales, maybe 10." Snowflier was skeptical of this deal. "Fine, only if you make sure this halo works." "Oh I know this halo works. I hired the most skillful forger in the land. He also knows a thing or two about magic, and enchanting." "Perfect, where is this great forger." Veur' aeta smiled. "South. Pay him your scales and feathers. He will pay me afterward." "Thank you Veur' aeta, I will be sure to visit you soon."
When Snowflier was far enough, Veur' aeta motioned a larger snake out of the burrow. He was a very bulky python. "Hunt that ignorant haven-dweller and bring her head to me, also give me the scales and feathers when you kill her. Those will fetch a price at the Underground market. The python nodded and slithered quickly in Snowflier's direction. Veur' aeta cackled. "Hah that snake was more gullible than a servant. She will be useful to me."
