Description
Description
This lace weight cardigan is light enough for a beach cover up, but enough coverage for a perfect fall or winter outer layer. Makes a really versatile addition to your wardrobe.
The best part is, while it has a super modern and fashionable look, it is still well within a beginners grasp.
I used a #0 weight yarn double strand in the pattern, which is equal to a #1 weight, so you can easily do either.
The pattern is made in two pieces, a left half and right half (including the sleeve), made exactly the same. That means well be crocheting the front and back at the same time basically.
Materials
I used Holst Garn Titicaca thin alpaca in color crown #0 lace weight yarn but I held 2 stands together, so that'll equal #1 fingering weight
4mm crochet hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Stitch marker
Skill: Easy
Notes:
This pattern made as women's sizes XS( S, M, L, XL, XXL )
This cardigan is worked flat in 2 separate pieces and then sewn together (2 panels are made the same)
This pattern is in multiples of 2 ch
In this picture I have demonstrated with size small
Yarn needed:
2440( 2600, 2800, 2960, 3160, 3320) yards of #0 lace weight. If you're using #1 fingering weight, cut the yardage in half plus a little extra (just to be safe)
Gauge blocked: 23 st X 10 rows = 4" In main stitch pattern, row 12 and 13 is a main stitch pattern repeat.
To make a gauge swatch, ch 30 or an even number and then crochet row 1-27
Measurements (After blocked)
XS = 24" Body width across X 25.73" Length
S = 25.60" Body width across X 25.73" Length
M = 27.20" Body width across X 27.04" Length
L = 28.80" Body width across X 27.04" Length
XL = 30.40" Body width across X 28.34" Length
XXL = 32" Body width across X 28.34" Length
Abbreviations
ch = chain
st = stitch(es)
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sp = space
sk = skip
REP = repeat
