Linen Vest

Description
The Linen Vest is a modern spin on a sleeveless vest, with strongly defined Half-Twisted Rib bordering the side seams, armholes, and neckline. Wear it alone in Summer, or throw on over a crisp white shirt when the temperature plummets.
This pattern includes two options: either with holes to lace up with ribbon, or without holes to sew up. I love the flash of skin that the lace up version gives, and used a sheer black chiffon ribbon (that I whizzed up on my sewing machine, using some leftover fabric and my rolled hem sewing machine foot!)
I used the Long Tail cast on technique because it gives a pretty and stable right side edge and Jenny’s Stretchy Bind Off to cast off the neckline stitches, to give a nice stretchy edge. For the buttonholes, I used a Basic Knit cast off and the Backwards Loop cast on as they are easy and don’t stretch out of shape.

663 (718, 825, 938, 1058, 1185, 1335, 1465, 1608) metres of Cotton DK yarn with approx 14 wraps per inch, equivalent to approximately 6 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13) x50g balls of yarn (yarn estimates are approximate.)
I used 7 balls of Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Misty Grey for the size medium.
