OVERVIEW
- This pattern comes in 6 sizes. Please check the "Measurements" section and make sure you know the head circumference measurement of the person who will wear it.
- Before you start, it is VERY IMPORTANT to check your gauge very carefully, or you might get the wrong measurements for your size. Making a GAUGE SWATCH is highly recommended!
- To achieve a stiff hat, this pattern instructs the usage of double strands and Yarn Under Single Crochet (yusc), a special technique often used in amigurumi due to the tightness of the stitch it creates.
- This pattern is written using American terminology and is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated.
- The cone of the hat and brim are crocheted using 2 strands for both colours.

TENSION
It is important to check your tension before commencing the hat. If there are too many stitches to 10cm, your tension is tight and you will need to change your hook to a larger size. If there are too few stitches to 10cm, your tension is loose and you will need to change your hook to a smaller size.
