Description
This Mini Decor Bunny was inspired by a resin, crochet look-a-like bunny I was gifted, which has pride of place on my mantel, along with my newly crocheted versions.
Experience with amigurumi patterns, working in the round, increasing and decreasing is ideal.
A fingering weight/4ply yarn is used to create this mini version. If you are happy for a larger version, DK/8ply and Aran/Medium weight/10ply yarns also work for this pattern.
It is not necessary to meet gauge.
This is a quick project that you can make in less than a day.
**Yarn**
A hand-dyed, fingering weight/4ply yarn by Inspired by Margot, in the colour way 100's and 1,000's, was used to create this mini version.
DK/8ply and Aran/Medium weight/10ply yarns will create a larger bunny and yarn quantities and measurements will differ. Finer weight yarns will also work well.
You will also need some embroidery thread for the nose. Where you choose to embroider eyes, please allow for extra embroidery thread for this.
**Hook**
This sample used a 3mm hook, but a smaller hook will produce a tighter fabric and is recommended for those with loose tension.
2mm - 3mm (US sizes: 0/4 steel to D-3), or as preferred, for fingering weight/4ply yarn.
1.5mm - 2.5mm (US sizes: 7/8 steel to C-2) is recommended for finer fingering weights. For other yarn weights, use a 0.5 - 1mm smaller hook than your yarn recommends.
**Notions**
Scissors, stitch markers, tapestry & embroidery needles, 6mm safety eyes (larger eyes may be used for thicker yarns and embroidery thread may be a better option for finer yarns), toy stuffing
**Optional embellishments**
Despite my original resin bunny having no embellishments, I have added some to this design. Instructions for optional small & large flowers and a leaf are included, should you wish to add these to your creation. It looks just as cute without them, though!
You will need some extra scrap yarn, in various colours, to make these. You could also add ribbon or beads to your design.
Please note that yarn quantities and end measurements may vary for different yarns and hooks used, as well as different gauges. Measurements provided are a guide only.
