Description
Crochet a mother hen with her 3 chicks. The chicks sit inside eggs and can be stored inside the mother hen.
You will need 3 colours, plus small amounts of orange, yellow and red for the hen's and chick's features. You can experiment with colours, but I used white for the eggs, pale yellow for the chicks and a soft variegated yarn for the hen. The hen will work well with a chunky or thick chenille yarn; I used dk yarn doubled.
The chicks require a thinner yarn than the hen, plus a smaller needle. If you use the same yarn thickness, they will still be cute but might be too big to fit inside the hen.
