Description
This pattern was created to replicate a crochet tote bag which was being sold on the high street for £29.99. Unfortunately, crochet is being seen more and more on the high street for low prices.
Crochet cannot be replicated by a machine, so any crochet that you see has been handmade. Not only does selling these items at such low prices devalue the hard work that goes into making them, but it also gets you thinking how little the people who actually make them are being paid.
I made this pattern and calculated the costs involved in making it to demonstrate the value of crochet. You can find more of that
here: https://bellacococrochet.com/crochet-on-the-high-street-and-why-you-shouldnt-buy-it/
I will also be donating a proportion of the profits earned from this pattern to charity.
