Here is Olly the Owl

Olly is slightly disoriented, textured friend made using Tunisian Crochet. With his distinct "intarsia" belly and large, expressive eyes, he looks like he just flew in from a storybook forest. He uses the same sturdy "Tent Base" construction as his friends in my shop.

Techniques:

Tunisian Intarsia: Changing colors in the middle of the row for the belly.

Tunisian Knit Stitch (Tks): For the "V" knit-look texture. Tunisian Full Stitch (Tfs) for the wings to create a "feathered" look.

Standard Crochet: For the eyes and toes.

Yarns

Yarn A (Main Body): Hobbii Portobello (60% Cotton, 28% Acrylic, 12% Wool) in a Rust/Brown shade. This gives the owl its feathery, rustic texture.

Yarn B (Belly): Cygnet Deluxe DK (100% Acrylic) in Cream for the soft tummy.

Yarn C (Underwings, eyes, beak and legs): Cygnet Deluxe DK (100% Acrylic) in Brown for the soft tummy.
