This crochet beanie is inspired by one of the most iconic Mexican candies: the Paleta Payaso.

The candy marshmallow lollipop is covered in chocolate and has 3 distinctive gummies that create the shape of a clown. The fun part here is the gummies are placed by hand in the factory, and it just gives it an extra charm and a surprise to see what type of face you might get; it might not even look like a face, but that is the best part.

The Paleta Payaso has been around since the 70's and has become part of the Mexican collective culture and it's even sold in some other countries, let me know if you've seen it in yours :)

This pattern is very intermediate-friendly, the beanie is done in one piece, and you could use the same count to make beanies in solid colors. It includes a PDF with graphic pattern.
