Description
This blanket works up quickly in a bulky yarn with an intriguing patchwork pattern created by seed and basketweave stitches bordered by garter stitch. This pattern includes both fully written and charted instructions.
A solid knowledge of knit and purl stitches, along with cast on and cast off, is all you need to be able to follow these instructions. The pattern calls for a provisional cast on, but can easily be worked with any cast on you prefer.
I have made versions of this blanket in Caron’s Chunky Cakes Yarn on size 11 needles which works well. If you are looking to substitute yarn, I would choose a bulky yarn (size 5 or 6) with a little bit of stretch to it. The pattern of the blanket works best in a solid color or a yarn with long color repeats.
