Description
The perfect beanie starts with a good ribbing that secures the hat to your head just right. For this Basic Knit Beanie Hat pattern I chose to use a K2p1 ribbing. This rib stitch has a nice clean look to it and just the right amount of stretch. You also have to create a ribbed hat band that is wide enough. The pattern has you knit the ribbing for about two inches, but sometimes I really like an even thicker band so sometimes I will do 3 inches.  If you choose to knit your ribbing for more rounds, just be sure to adjust the number of rounds needed for the body of the hat before the crown shaping so you will still have a nice fit.
The purl row in my pattern that separates the ribbing from the body of the hat adds an element of texture and simple design to an otherwise ordinary hat. This Basic Knit Beanie Hat pleases the fingers of the beginning knitter and the expert knitter as you create whether it is a gift or for yourself, you can't go wrong.
Happy Day and Happy Knitting!!
