Pirate fish

Description
This pirate fish is the second piece in a plushie series I'm creating, inspired by my sister's illustrations! <3

It is worked in a CONTINUOUS SPIRAL and is fairly simple to make. I wouldn't label it as an absolute beginner pattern because, to get the neatest finish, it requires a consistent tension that beginners or first-time amigurumi makers might not have mastered yet. However, if you are a beginner and want to give it a try, you are more than welcome!

This pattern includes plenty of HELPFUL PHOTOS and VIDEO TUTORIALS to guide you through the process.

All parts are worked separately and sewn together at the end using a tapestry needle (the crossed bones can be glued instead of sewn).

IMPORTANT! The body, tail, hat and eyepatch are worked with bulky chenille yarn and a 5.5 mm (I-9) hook. The crossbones are worked with DK weight cotton/acrylic yarn and a 3.0 mm hook.
If you tend to crochet loosely, I recommend sizing down your hook by 0.5 mm for each section.

PLEASE NOTE: If you use a thinner or thicker yarn for the fish and hat, you MUST KEEP THE PROPORTIONS when making the crossed bones.
EXAMPLE: If you make the fish and hat using DK weight yarn with a 3.0 mm hook, you would need to use micro-crochet with lace/thread weight yarn and a 1.5 mm hook so the crossed bones remain proportional.

Safety eyes size: 12 mm.

ESTIMATED CROCHET TIME: For reference, it takes me about 2 hours to complete.

I'd love to see what you create with this pattern! Tag me in your creations on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. You can find me as @muumcrochet on all of them. Also, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a message, I'll be happy to help!

Without further ado, let's crochet!
