Description
The Pixel Hat is the perfect accessory to keep you warm! It's great for using up your leftover super chunky yarn, or if you want to try a smaller project before moving onto the Pixel Jumper to make a matching set. (The Pixel Jumper patten and the Pixel Jumper/Hat bundle are available on my Etsy shop)
The Pixel Hat works up quickly on 10 mm needles and is worked in the round, so no seaming is required! A pompom can be added as a nice finishing touch, but is not necessary.
The simple but stylish two-tone pixelated design is created using stranded knitting, and any two colours can be used. The colourwork results in yarn ‘floats’ on the wrong side of the work which add additional thickness to the hat, making it extra warm! I’ve included both written instructions and knitting charts for the colourwork, so you can use the method you are most comfortable with. This is a great project for those wanting to try out some stranded knitting for the first time, and is suitable for advanced/adventurous beginners.
I've included a copy of the original PDF in this knitting pattern :)

What materials are needed for Pixel Hat?
To make Pixel Hat you will need: ., The approximate amount of yarn you will need for each colour is given in the table in the measurement section. Any yarn with which you can achieve the correct tension should work. Generally, a yarn with a reported tension of 9 sts and 12 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch on 10 mm needles (or similar) will be suitable. It’s a good idea to make a tension swatch before starting.Possible yarns include;Sirdar Hayfield Super Chunky with Wool (Used in the designing of this hat)Sirdar Hayfield Bonus Super ChunkyStylecraft Special XL Super ChunkyPaintbox Yarns Wool Mix Super ChunkyPaintbox Yarns Simply Super ChunkyLion Brand Hometown (You may need to use smaller needles to achieve tension for this one)Drops WishTENSION8.5 sts and 12 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch in the round on 10 mm needles (or size required to give correct tension).9 sts and 13 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over 1x1 rib in the round on 10 mm needles (or size required to give correct tension). If your tension contains fewer stitches you may want to try smaller needles or knitting more tightly. If your tension contains more stitches you may want to use larger needles or try knitting more loosely. It’s normal to have a slight difference in the final measurements of the product as no two knitters are exactly the same! However, a difference in tension will result in a finished hat that is a bit larger/smaller than stated in the pattern and will also affect the amount of yarn required., 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle, pompom maker (optional). Tools required: 10 mm circular needles (or size required to give correct tension) - a 40 cm cord is recommended, or you can use a longer cord with the magic loop method..
