Description
This pattern includes both options - the original PDF pattern by KnittyBae and a converted interactive version, so you can choose the format that works best for you!

Presenting a crochet pattern for the Pixie Sweater by Knittybae. Crochet pattern made by alternating between basic crochet stitches and long mesh stitch creating striped effect with contrasting rows. With this pattern you have two ribbing options that you can chose from: crocheted or knitted.

The Pixie Sweater is a made to measure crochet pattern you can follow the provided size or use your own measurements to customize the fit exactly how you like. Each step includes notes and tips to help you adjust the sizing as needed.

This pattern is provided in English and uses American crochet shorthand/abbreviations. This document spans 30 pages and includes instructive images to further help you pursuit your goal result.

Recommended Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and above.

Pattern uses following crochet stitches: single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), double treble crochet (dtr) and slip stitch (sl st).

CONSTRUCTION OF THE SWEATER

The Pixie Sweater is worked from the bottom-up and begins with the lower body panel worked in rounds, followed by two upper body panels front and back that are worked flat.

Once you reach your desired length of the lower body, the piece is split into front and back panels to create the sleeve openings. These are then worked flat until you reach one of the two sleeve width options provided, or your preferred width, while shaping the necklines on both sides.

After both front and back panels are complete and the necklines are shaped, they're joined together at the shoulders. The sleeves are then added directly onto the body and worked in rounds again.

Once finished, add ribbing either crocheted or knitted, depending on your preference to the sleeves, neckline, and optionally the bottom hem for a polished, finished look.

MATERIALS:
- CROCHET HOOK 7 mm / UK 2 or 6,5 mm / US K-10 1/2
- YARN any (up Bulky no. 5) compatible with 7 mm crochet hook
- SCISSORS
- TAPE MEASURE
- STITCH MARKERS
- TAPESTRY NEEDLE (for weaving in ends)

KNITTED RIBBING (optional)
- KNITTING NEEDLES 5 or 6 mm / UK 6 or 4 / US 8 or 10 (circular)

YARN RECOMMENDATIONS:
- You can use any yarn of your choice, such as cotton, wool or acrylic.
- You can combine 2 or 3 strands of different weight yarns to create your unique look for this sweater.
- For full rows: I recommend using two colors of Fine (no. 2) or Light (no. 3) weigh yarn (held double). You can also use single strand no heaviner than Medium (no. 4) or Bulky (no. 5) weight yarn compatible with 7 mm crochet hook.
- For long mesh rows: I recommend using Lace weight (no. 0) or Super Fine weight (no. 1) yarn. Best result you'll get with mohair, or mohair like yarn.

e.g.:

- To make a green sample sweater, I've used 7 mm crochet hook and two strands of yarn held together for the full rows: Fine weight yarn (no. 2): Alize Angora Gold in Green 852 (held double 500 m) and Light weight yarn (no. 3): Alize Angora Real 40 in shade Pine Green 563 (held double 192 m), and single strand of yarn for long mesh rows: Lace weight yarn (no. 0): hobbii's Diablo in shade 21 Jade (single strand 210 m),

- To make a beige sample sweater, I've used 7 mm crochet hook and two strands of yarn held together for the full rows: Fine weight yarn (no. 2): DROPS' Alpaca in shade Light Nougat 2020 (held double 500 m) and Light weight yarn (no. 2): DROPS' Alpaca in shade Brown 607 (held double 192 m), and single strand of yarn for long mesh rows: DROPS' brushed Alpaca Silk in shade Light Beige 04 (single strand 210 m),

- To make a blue/pink sample sweater, I've used 7 mm crochet hook and two strands of yarn held together for the full rows: Fine weight yarn (no. 2): Alize Lanagold Fine Blue 141 (held double 500 m) and Light weight yarn (no. 3): Schachenmayr Bravo Originals Power Pink 08350 (held double 192 m), and single strand of yarn for long mesh rows: Lace weight yarn (no. 0): Alize Kid Royal Royal Blue 141 (single strand 210 m),
