Description
Estimated time: ~1 to 1.5h
Step up your crochet game!
Ideal pattern for advanced beginners that want to create something simple, but with additional notes on how to add that little extra to your make.
Advanced beginner friendly pattern, includes crocheting on both sides of the chain to create an oval, double crochet clusters, colour changes and the tiniest amount of sewing.
Use any yarn, use any colour, add any eyes you want, embroider a smile or a grimace, add a little blush on the cheeks, use secondary or tertiary colours for the belly and the dots on the back, add embroidery, make the legs short or long.
Add keychain or chain with your hook desired length to make it a bag charm or even a car mirror charm.
Measurements (see second picture)
Red frog on the picture:
Using 4ply weight yarn and 2.5mm hook your frog will be approximately 3cm x 4.5cm (body without legs)
This size works well with 8mm, 10mm & 12mm eyes
Best for glue on eyes (remember to keep an eye on children if glue on eyes are used)
You will need to snip a bit of a safety eye as the eye socket isn't that big
You can also use small buttons for eyes or needle felt the eyes
Green frog on the picture:
Using DK weight yarn and 3.5mm hook your frog will be approximately 4cm x 6.5cm (body without legs)
This size works well with 10mm, 12mm and bigger eyes
Best for glue on eyes (remember to keep an eye on children if glue on eyes are used)
You will need to snip a bit of a safety eye as the eye socket isn't that big
You can also use buttons for eyes or needle felt the eyes
Pink frog on the picture:
Using Aran weight yarn and 4mm hook your frog will be approximately 5cm x 7.5cm (body without legs)
This size works well with 12mm, 15mm and bigger eyes
This size is perfect for safety eyes
You can also use small buttons for eyes or needle felt the eyes
Enjoy!
