Completely NO-SEW! All variations, including the crocheted pot version are crocheted top-down all in 1 piece.
The mushroom portion is the same for either the clay pot or crochet pot version, right up to the dirt.
There are so many different sizes you could make with this pattern depending on the yarn weight you use. For the crochet pot, you can use any yarn. For the clay pot, if you don't want to guess which size pot you need, I include what yarn, pot and hook size you'll need to fit into your pot (see 2nd listing photo for specifics).
Many photos are included to be as helpful as possible along the way.
The Potted Mushroom Pal Pattern is classified for intermediate crocheters. You should know how you color change, crochet into back loops only, and follow stitch directions (for the nub arms).
