I love these fingerless gloves! They make me feel like I'm a character in F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, surreptitiously sipping a cognac cocktail from a teacup in a Roaring Twenties speakeasy. They're knit in the round all in one piece, starting at the bottom with a ladylike pleated edging. The pleated cuff make them special--it's super easy to do and very elegant. The palm of the glove features an asymmetrical thumb gusset that is worth the extra effort because it places extra stitches at the fleshy base of the thumb for an ergonomic fit.

I used a sock yarn that has different shades of the same color for a kettle-dyed effect, but really, they would look good in a solid color, or even self-striping. If you have a lonely skein of gorgeous sock yarn looking for a raison d'etre, this is the pattern for it!
