This pattern was inspired by a real-life monkey named Punch, a Japanese macaque living in the Ichikawa City zoo. Punch was abandoned by his mother when he was little and was given an orangutan soft toy in place to help him integrate with the other macaques. Even though he got bullied many times, that didn't stop him from trying to make friends with the others and he soon made some! :) After seeing so many videos of him I just had to crochet him because he's so adorable!
