The hat is worked with two strands of the yarn held together.
You can use the strands from the two ends of your yarn (The end strand is usually tucked into the ball, so if you can find it that‘s great!) or alternatively, you can work with two balls (That way you can also create mixed color pattern) or by pre cutting some length from the yarn.
In this pattern we used the two ends of the same ball of yarn held together.
