These coasters are meant to be a scrap yarn project, so any yarn that matches the gauge should work. I recommend using 1 strand of sport weight cotton and changing colors every row. For my coasters I used 10 shades of Schachenmayr Catania. 0.5 oz of sport weight scrap yarn per coaster
Hooks
H/5 mm crochet hook or any other hook needed to obtain the gauge, and a hook that‘s about 2-3 mm smaller, used to add tassels to the coaster.
