Description
This adorable duck lovey is a fun project to swim into your yarn bag. It makes a sweet baby shower gift or a small toy for any little one! It would make a lovely Christmas gift! He or she can be personalized however you like.
This lovey can be made quickly within a day or two if you are needing a quick gift to make. This would also make a unique product to add to your craft fair inventory this holiday season.
Layout:
All of my patterns feature the same consistent layout which is easy to read and understand in US American terms. It is easy to find all the information you need to make this project. It lists materials, gauge, size, pattern key, any special stitches, notes, and then the pattern instructions and assembly. .

Size:
When you are finished, your duckling security blanket should measure approximately 12" x 12" x 7".
Pattern Key:
SC - Single Crochet
Sc2tog - Single Crochet decrease
Sl st - slip stitch
FO - Finish Off
St(s) - Stitch/stitches
Ch - Chain
Rnd(s) - Round/Rounds
BLO - back loop only
RS - Right Side
Special Stitches:
Single Crochet Decrease (SC2TOG)
Insert hook in the next stitch, yo and pull up a loop. (2 loops on the hook) Insert hook in the next stitch, yo and pull up another loop. (You should have 3 loops on your hook now.) Yarn over, and pull yarn through all 3 hoops.
Shell Stitch
5 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
Notes:
Read through the entire pattern first.
The duck is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join while making the duck unless told to. Use stitch markers to know where your first stitch in the round is.
Beginning chain 1 does not count as a stitch throughout pattern.
First stitch is always in the same stitch as the beginning chain.
Beginning Ch 3 does count as a stitch throughout the pattern.
Sl St does not count as a stitch throughout the pattern.
Repeat stitches between * and * around.
Alternative to MC - Ch 4, and join to the first ch to form a circle.
