The sides and straps are crocheted with any yarn a great way to use up some extra yarn! I use size 4 yarn for this project.
Old records are really easy to find; many record stores give away old, damaged or unwanted records for free. I suggest using two records made by the same company, as this ensures they are of the same weight. Some old records are made of cheaper material and can be floppy and challenging to work with.
