This pattern is made with DK weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook. Gauge is not crucial in this pattern. It includes two sizes, one for thick hair (L) and one for medium hair (S). The distinction in the sizes are made in the different hair band sizes. For the L size you will want to pick up hair bands specifically made for thick hair and for the S size you will pick up hair bands specifically for medium hair. The sizes will be displayed like thisS,(L).
