I always use Hobby Lobby "I Love This Yarn" or "Crafters Secret". My small dog sweaters run around 1 skein for the main color, and scrap skeins for any embellishments.

The collar, coat tail and sleeves are trimmed with Bernat's "Pipsqueak" yarn...you certainly can use any white in it's place.
