Description
Introducing "Saoirse [sear-Shuh] the Mouse," a charming amigurumi pattern right out of my childhood, inspired by the tales that shaped it like Redwall, Lord of the Rings, and Mouseguard. This pattern isn't just about creating a crochet piece; it's about capturing a slice of childhood adventures and the timeless joy of storytelling. She's been crafted with playability in mind, with options for a semi-poseable head and arms and the ability to stand on her own. Standing around 10.5cm tall (depending on gauge), she's perfect for little hands to hold. With her satchel and cloak, Saoirse is ready for any adventure.
This pattern includes:
- Detailed step-by-step instructions
- 30+ colour photos to help you get your mouse looking just right
- Detailed instructions for crafting a semi-poseable figure, as well as instructions for her satchel and cloak
- Instructions for legs and antennae with/without pipe-cleaners
Whether displayed on a shelf or accompanying a child in play, Saoirse is sure to spark the imagination and be a lovely addition to any Amigurumi collection.
---
MATERIALS
Yarn The pattern is made for DK weight yarn, but being amigurumi, gauge isn't super important and you can easily switch it out for a different weight. Just make sure all the yarn used is the same weight and it should still work. I've used Classic & Prism 8ply Wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills for my mouse.
Colour A: Main body colour (you may choose to use a different colour for the tail, or mix and match colours used to create your unique mouse)
Colour B: Cloak colour
Colour C: Satchel colour
2.75mm crochet hook to keep the stitches nice and tight. Depending on your yarn you may need to go up or down sizes to match.
Stuffing
Sewing pins to keep things in place as you stitch them together (not absolutely necessary, but can help keep things from sliding around)
Marker to keep track of rounds (I use an extra little piece of yarn)
Yarn needle (or smaller if you prefer to attach pieces with thread), scissors, general etc.
