Description
Add a bit of shimmer and shiver to your collection with my Scarab Beetle!
In Ancient Egypt, scarabs were seen as symbols of rebirth, resurrection, transformation, and growth, and closely tied to the life giving sun.
Today, there are over 30,000 different species of scarab, spread across the globe. These mysterious little beetles can be both beautiful and terrifying, but they are quite wonderous, too.
This pattern is perfect for an intermediate crocheter who is comfortable with sewing pieces on. It takes a small amount of yarn in two colors, 8mm eyes, and fiberfill. I used Caron Simply Soft to make the shell shimmer like a real scarab.
