If you have made my purple moon snake. Then you will probably have a lil cake left. (I have soo many lil cakes). You can use these lil cakes to make snakes!!! This one is for my mom. I didn't have enough time to make it for her on mother's day. These snakes are perfect for gifts. If you decide to do a short snake then it will probably take an hour to create. A longer snake takes about three hours to make. Have fun making this!!!!
--Snake Lore-- (I will make Eracavu, and Yeirtria)
Grapefruit was considered exotic by her friends and family because of her brilliant purple scales. They only had brown and yellow scales. She was beginning to wonder if she had special powers. Grapefruit did not know of her origin. In class, her mentor said that he knew nothing about purple snakes. He also said that Grapefruit was not naturally born into their tribe. But found in a far away land.
"That means I'm adopted." Her mentor was busy grading performances done by other students. He looked up. "Of course you are Grapefruit. Has your father or mother told you about that." Grapefruit was solemn now that she heard of this news. "No... They haven't Szharzu. They have never mentioned anything about being adopted. Maybe it was for my own sake. so I would not be sad." Szharzu went back to grading papers, he shifted his tail and picked up one of Grapefruit's test papers. "Grapefruit, you are the kindest, most studios serpent in all of Uurhrazaol. And one of the smartest students I have ever met. Your parents must have been just like you. And I'm sure they had a reason to leave you here." Grapefruit felt better about the information of her adoption. " Thank you Szharzu for comforting me." "No problem, and remember. Bring an Echo Rabbit to class tomorrow to study it." "I wont forget." Grapefruit left the classroom, and quickly slithered to the village library. Ms. Stonevine was reading a story about a sea serpent and a human, and how they became the closest of friends. That was Grapefruit's favorite book when she was little. She slithered to the history section of the library. Many old original books were in those wooden shelves. Grapefruit reached her tail to grab a book about the history of Uurhrazoal. She sat down in the same spot and started to read.
Grapefruit spent more time in the library than she expected. More than an hour had gone by. A young snake slithered to Grapefruit. "What are you doing Grapefruit. The library closes soon." Grapefruit put the book back on the shelf. "Thank you Yeirtriea." Yeirtria is Grapefruits' best friends. They were friends when they were little. "Oh and by the way. Eracavu is waiting outside the library for you." Grapefruit blushed. "Hm I will see what he wants. "Okey dokey." Yeirtria is always very cheerful.
At the library doors. Eracavu was waiting. He was leaning against a wall with his tail curled and he had a smirk on his face. "There is the talk of the town. Or should I say. Most lovely serpent in all of Uurhazoal." Grapefruit slithered out of the library. "Oh stop it you. Everyone knows who I am. They don't talk about me much. Only when I pass by them." "But you are still the prettiest serpent in my opinion. No one could ever match your beautiful scales. Not even Qiriaua. Speaking of her, her next show is in two days. Would you like to come with me?" "Oh I don't know Eracavu, I am very busy." "Busy with what." Yeirtria interjected. Did you say yo..." Grapefruit curled her tail around Yeirtria. And smiled. "Hah ha she is YAPPING about NOTHING. Right Yeitria." Eracavu smiled agian. "Oh come on it will be fun. I will be your personal chaperone." Eracavu curled his ail around Grapefruits' tail then took off. "Wait Eracavu I have homework!!! I have to hunt for Echo Rabbits. Do you have any Ideas how rare those are. And I only have a day to find them if you take me to Qiriaua's performance." "It will be fine Grapefruit, stop being a fun-spoiler now." "By the way you are going the wrong direction. My house is that way." "Oh okay."
Grapefruit waved goodbye to Eracavu. She decided that she is going to go see Qiriaua. She opened the door and felt a strange tingle in her body. She looked inside and everything was fine. Her mother came to greet her. "And how is my little Amethyst doing?" She patted Grapefruit's head. "I am fine mother." "I saw you out with Eracavu. Ugh he is very dangerous. You should not like him." Grapefruit rolled her eyes and slithered to her room. "He is as fine as any other Male in this town." Grapefruit plopped down on her straw and tapestry bed. " He is normal... I guess." Grapefruit smelled a fragrant smell from the window. She had never smelled that before. On the windowsill there were vibrant, magenta flowers. Oh those are prettyeh eh. Grapefruit felt very tired suddenly. She flopped again and fell asleep. She had very pleasant dreams. She slept through the night. Before she was awakened. She had a vivid dream. It was about her waking up and finding a mysterious key at her tail. "I wonder what this is for." A shimmering light filled her room, and a door appeared. Grapefruit picked up the key with her mouth and crept towards the door. She sprang back nervously. Then decided to unlock it. She then opened It.
Inside there was an ornate room with regal-looking tapestry curtains that shielded a bright light from view. Silk cloths were placed on a wooden table. A lectern with an opened book was lit up by the white light. And beside it were shelves of mysterious books that looked very old. A warm wind filled the room. It gathered into the shape of a serpent who was bright green. The silk and the curtains were dancing in the wind. "Ahh I see... you have obtained Dreampetals. Such beauties like these are rare. And let me guess. Was it magenta." Grapefruit was looking all around the room and how pretty it was. She answered. "Why yes it was. It looked freshly picked." "Now let me warn you about this color of Dreampetal. It will give you very pleasant dreams. And at the end of those pleasant dreams. You will awaken in an unfamiliar place that suits your greatest desire. But be careful not to stay long." The Green serpent was staring at a red book. Then she looked back at Grapefruit. "I See you like to read powerful knowledge." "Yes I do, What do the other colors of the Dreampetals mean exactly." The emerald serpent looked at a black book and it floated out of the shelf. Read this. It will tell you what they mean." Grapefruit grabbed the book and started reading.
She read about red ones that put you in continuous nightmares. You can only wake up if someone wakes you up. She also read about pink and purple ones. They were the same as her magenta one. But less scary on how she could get trapped here if she stays long. Blue and green ones gave the sleeper. Lovely vivid dreams. That you can control. Orange and yellow are the same as red. Black and white are the most dangerous ones. They are worse than red ones. You can never awaken if you smell those. And you are put into nightmares, where there are those who want to make your sleep painful and a torture. Brown ones are just rotten ones that have lost their power. Like dead flowers. She read about how Torturers used Black and white ones to turn them into a silver potion. Those were also used in assassinations. To make sure their victims will never awaken.
When Grapefruit was done reading that book she got another book, and another, and another, until she was almost done with the left shelf. Then when she was done reading the left shelf, she read all of the right shelf. She for some reason avoided the book on the lectern That was open. After she read all the books she moved on to the book on the Lectern. It was a book about her heritage. And past. For some reason the author knew her past.
She read the page that was open, and turned the page. She realized that she is not as exotic as everyone thinks she is. She is only a Star Anaconda. They sound rare but they are just common Galaxy-dwellers that tend to visit planets and stars to lay eggs. When the snakes learn how to fly, they fly back to the heavens where they came from, with large, and beautiful wings that the tips curl, and long feathers stream out from behind them. "I wonder why I have no wings." Grapefruit turned the page and then read a paragraph. "Oh I have to earn them... But how exactly do I?" The page she read said that she had to find the essence of her true mother and father. It may take her all of her life, or just five minutes to do so. Grapefruit turned the page again. But it was blank. After a second. A purple glow illuminated the back of the book. And etched into it a door. And a sentence. "Throw me at the door where you came from." Grapefruit was confused. But she did just that. She threw the book at the door . And the door engulphed the book. Then it opened to her bedroom. The Emerald Serpent spoke. "Goodbye Grapefruit, until we meet again." Grapefruit wagged her tail, and slithered out the door.
"That was awesome. Well not that awesome. Someday or not I get to return to the heavens. And see my real mother and father." Grapefruit heard her mother calling. "Hey Grapefruit, don't you have to go see Quiriaua's performance." "Coming mother." Eracavu was waiting outside the door. "Where is Grapefruit. She will be late." Grapefruit's mother spoke, "Yeitria is bouncing outside the window. And Eracavu is trying to get me to not notice them. So hurry up Am you apparently don't have all day." Grapefruit practically fell at the door trying to race to it. "Sorry I was sleeping (maybe)." "Oh don't be sorry, the performance isn't until two. And it is only one." Said Yeitria. Grapefruit waved bye to her mother and slithered with the two. "Where is the performance being held Eracavu?" "Right there." Grapefruit's eyes lit up, that is soo fancy I guess Quiriaua is really going to show the snakes how good at ribbon dancing she is." "She is the main dancer, there are accompanies next to her in the performance." Yeitria beamed. "Yay were here!" In front of them was a stage, and in front of the stage, was a podium. And a row of movable wooden bleachers were facing the stage. Baskets of fireflies were shining above the podium and around the stage. Many friends and families were already there, waiting for the announcement. The three snakes sat down and waited for them to start. "Has it already been an hour?" "Ya, what makes you think it was less time. That was an hour." Yeitria said that in a disapproving tone. "Be quiet Yeitria. Those flowers I gave Grapefruit were to make her sleep to not stress so much about her Echo Rabbit assignment. And I guess she is now unaware of time." A male snake stood in front of the podium and said with a loud voice. "Please welcome Quiriaua and her accompanies. Today they will be Performing: The Snow dove. They will be showing you their ribbon dancing skills." The male snake bowed and left. Quiriaua appeared in front of the podium with four other female snakes. Quiriaua had fake majestic white wings to match her albino scales. She was painted before the performance. She slithered to the front of the stage. "Alright so I am now going to show you what a true ribbon dancer can do." Quiriaua looked tired and perhaps annoyed about the performance. She slithered back and started her routine. she flipped in a circle and the two snakes on the side grabbed two ribbons majestically. They twirled with the ribbons over to the other dancing snakes, and then they passed the ribbons on to Quiriaua. She was even more majestic than the four other females, Her headdress danced and fluttered in the wind. The red ribbons were like an extension of her own tail, the fake wings spread out when Quiriaua pulled a string with her mouth. They were shining and iridescent in the sunset. "Wow it is already sunset right now Eracavu. Is that a little strange?" "Shh I am trying to listen to the music." Grapefruit did not hear any music. In fact, the whole world was silent to Grapefruit. She couldn't even hear the slightest gust of wind.
"Maybe that weird magenta flower has made me deaf after a while of sleeping, or is this just another dream. Maybe I was trapped and forever. At least that flower was not black or white. And my dreams were pleasant." Grapefruit covered her head with her tail and sighed. She was not having fun. The world was probably going to slip away in time...
After the performance finished, Grapefruit could hear again. " That was strange, I could not hear for the performance. At least it was pretty." "What are you talking about, the music was blasting. The front row probably can't hear now." Eracavu was now regretting giving his mate-to-be mysterious flowers. "We need to take you to a doctor after the performance Grapefruit." Yeitria was somewhat scared of what happened to Grapefruit. "Agreed." Said Eracavu.
After everyone left, Quiriaua stopped the group. "Wow I am shocked by your purple scales. Normally snakes don't have those scales. Well only adopted snakes do." Quiriaua and her gang started laughing at Grapefruit. "Grapefruit. What a name. So dumb to call your child "Grapefruit" When her scales are obviously purple." The other snakes laughed. Grapefruit started to cry. Then Eracavu and Yeitria lunged at Quiriaua, tearing her fake wings apart. "Augh ugh, those wings were hand crafted by my mother. Wait till she hears about this!" Quiriaua stormed off with her gang. The two snakes comforted Grapefruit. "You are the prettiest serpent ever. And no paint could ever make anyone your color." "Thank you Eracavu, I may not be a ribbon dancer, but I am a Star Anaconda." "Don't forget that your name is unique and special." "Thank you Yeitria, you both are always so nice to me." "What are friends for." The three hugged each other. As they were hugging, Grapefruit's scales turned from purple to white. They were even whiter than Quiriaua's painted scales. Grapefruit's eyes also changed. They turned from a slit to pure black. beaded eyes. Two large white wings grew and took up a lot of space. She could hardly fold them. "Looks like you are just about to get prettier." Eracavu said. "You are right Eracavu, Grapefruit is the most prettiest serpent ever." A ghostly white serpent slithered to Grapefruit and turned solid white. her wings were as large as her body. The serpent answered in a soft and loud voice. "Welcome to your future, I am your mother. Snowflier."
