I fell in love with a pattern for a pair of socks that had sheep sprinkled across a green meadow with a rich blue sky. Unfortunately, this person's pattern instructions did not work for me, so I set out to create my own. The bright, spring palette and cute sheep were too enticing. The color work chart I created for the matching sheep socks inspired this hat. Being familiar with knitting in the round and stranded color work is helpful, but not required. The stitches themselves are not difficult and the chart is easy to follow. Only around a total of 260 yards (or 240 meters) of sock weight yarn is needed.
