Description
The picture shows the small size. For the larger sizes, the crossover has a less pronounced effect as the start and end points are indented some and don’t start from the armpit, as the model in the picture shows.
This strikingly beautiful and unusual jumper has minimal sewing. It is created as one piece, in three/four stages. As a finished fabric it is elastic; the fit is very flattering. If you prefer a looser fit, make a larger sized body, and adjust the sleeve, or use the handy table on pages 5 & 6 to customise the measurements. The pattern includes detailed instructions to help you do this. The made-up fabric has approximately 4 inches of stretch in the fabric. The fabric contracts when it has been made and provides a comfortable, zero ease fit, that feels great on. If you want a looser fit. go up a size. The table on pages 5 & 6 will help you do that. The final pattern is a regular repeat. You will find it easy to get to grips with and adaptable, to your own needs. The measurements for the standard sizes are designed for the arms to stop a little short of the wrist. Use the custom sizes table to make any adjustments.
As the sizes get larger the double-breasted effect is reduced slightly. The greater the number of fans rows, the longer the garment is, to reach the point at or below the buttocks. To control the overall length, we indent the start and end of the cross over. Once you have got to grips with how this is built and hangs together it will be easy enough for an experienced crocheter to make ultra-small sizes for little adults.
