Description
Description
The Shoulder Shift Tank is an easy beginner knit garment or meditative project for any skill level. It can be worn loosely off one shoulder or adorned to be a one sleeve tank. Its versatile qualities allow you to go from the pool to dinner.
Pattern is worked flat in rows to achieve garter texture that will give the illusion of vertical stripes when assembled. After rectangular fabric is created, its seamed to create armholes.
Pattern is designed with 10" of positive ease for a loose fit. Amount of positive ease will depend on where you fall within the size range: model is 53" with 34" bust, wearing size S.
The suggested fiber plays a large role in the design. It offers incredible drape and will grow in blocking and with wear. Its slippery nature lends itself to being easier to work with on wooden needles.
Use your choice of cast on. Sample was made using a long tail cast on with two needles for a loose edge: https://youtu.be/_Z9cP9b9uQM
It is helpful to loosely bind off by using a larger needle size or Jenys Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off as this will be the neckline edge. Or use instruction for stretchy bind-off already in pattern.
Both sides of fabric are the same, so you can choose your favorite side to be the right side. Wrong side is only referenced for seaming.
Use your preferred seaming method. Sample uses whip stitch technique: https://youtu.be/UZS5Rbp2tMw
To customize body length, add or subtract 4 initial cast-on stitches for every inch desired. To customize width, add or subtract 8 rows for every inch desired.
