Description
A lovely spring top in Tunisian crochet technique, flowery sleeves, slightly oversized with a pronounced ribbed sleeve and body finish, V-neck finished with a crab stitch.
The body is worked entirely in crisp, flat Tunisian Knit Stitch (TKS) for a classic, knit-like drape. The back panel is created first as a simple rectangle, and the two front panels are picked up and crocheted straight off the shoulders, shaping a beautiful, clean V-neck before joining to form the front body.
The true showstopper is the sleeves! Worked directly off the side edges of the body panels, the sleeves feature a stunning, textured Tunisian crochet staggered flower motif.
It might seem a bit difficult at first, and it is not for beginners, but I have attached videos for especially tricky parts, so brave intermediate masters can do this jumper - just need patience, that's all:)
Skills You Need:
To successfully crochet this jumper, you should be comfortable with the following techniques:
Tunisian Crochet Basics: Confidently working standard Forward and Return passes.
Specific Tunisian Stitches: Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS), Tunisian Full Stitch (TFS), and Tunisian Double Crochet (TDS).
Advanced Motif Shaping: Working decreases (crocheting stitches together) on the Tunisian return pass to form clusters and flower "eyes".
Traditional Crochet (US Terms): Single Crochet (SC), Double Crochet (DC), Front Post/Back Post Double Crochet (FPdc/BPdc) for ribbing, and working built-in decreases with post stitches.
Finishing Techniques: Crab Stitch (Reverse Single Crochet) for shaping the neckline and slip stitching for seaming the sides.
