Description
This pattern is for an ornament featuring Inanna's most well-known symbol, Her 8-pointed star.
Inanna is the ancient Sumerian goddess of love and war.
The pattern uses a compound stitch that I made up, which I call the Ziggurat stitch. It's not very difficult once you see how it's made!
To make this stitch:
YO, insert hook into the stitch, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through first two loops.
YO, insert hook into the same stitch, YO, pull up a loop, (YO, pull through 2 loops)x2
YO, insert hook into the same stitch, YO, pull up a loop, (YO, pull through 2 loops)x3
It's basically a sc, dc, tr put together as one stitch, just like a step pyramid!
