Description
EEKK!! I'm so excited to present you this new pattern and I hope you will love it as much as I do!
Take your time and pe patient, in is worked fairly quick and the results are visible after each row.
It was really loved by the teachers at my daughter school, especially because the "stars" can
look like tiny kids holding hands.
Enjoy!
Stitch Abbreviations
Ch Chain
Insert hook, yarn over, pull up loop
sl st Slip stitch
Insert hook, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook
sc Single stitch crochet
Insert hook, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through last 2 loops
dc Double crochet
Yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull
through last 2 loops
mc Magic circle
Place the end of the yarn in your palm facing down. Place your thumb on top of the yarn. Feed
the yarn between your middle and ring finger, then rotate your hand down. Wrap the yarn around
your entire hand to the left of your first strand, pulling the yarn up, and placing the end between
your pinkie and ring finger. Insert your hook from right to left under the first yarn strand and grab
the second strand, pulling it under the first. Let go of the yarn and chain 1 to secure the circle.
BPDC Back Post Double Crochet
Similar to the double crochet stitch, but instead of working under the top two loops of the stitch
you will work your hook around the body, or post, of the stitch.
Before you begin...
- Ch1 at the beginning of each row does not count as stitch.
- First stitch from each row is done in the same ch1 space.
- The entire pattern is worked by alternating the colours on each/every 2 rows. You can either
choose to cut the yarn on each row, or just switch it on the first ch1 and pick it up once again
when you reach the end of the row. I went with the second choice :)
Part 1: Beginning +Increases
The pattern is worked in rounds with turn/not turn depending on next row.
Make sure to pull tight on each slip stitch at the end of the row, to avoid gaps.
You can use a stitch marker in that first stitch, to always keep track of it and not lose it.
The double crochet rows which are followed by the BPDC, will not be much visible, because
they are the support for the BPDC row to create the ridge.
