Subi is inspired from a real-life shiba inu pup owned by Monica Tuy AND her family. A very talented Filipina-American Children's Filipino book author. She is the author of 'My Pinsans and Me' Filipino children's book where Subi is one of the main characters along with Amara. 'Pinsan' in Filipino Language is 'cousin'. When I saw the characters of the amazing book, Subi caught my eye and I know I had to make a pattern of him. Monica is very kind and generous to give me permission to do so.
