Description
Make anything leggy with this easy pattern for arms and legs! Also useful for insect antennae/legs or even ties/drawstrings for larger projects, such as to fasten a cardi or shrug or a drawstring on a pouch or hoodie. Work in two colors of yarn for a fun striped effect as illustrated in the party hat pic.
You'll find this simple, but uncommon, technique is much easier than traditional cords of slip stitches worked into a foundation chain. When stitched in a dense gauge, arms and legs are quite poseable, even without wire or stiffening. This pattern includes detailed photos, intro with stitch tutorials, and instructional video.
Pattern has been tested, check out the tester journals for more inspiration! Special thanks to the testers Aurorahun, EveIsCool, Kilgore0224, LittleRaindrxp, myohmymy, and Skirbs!
About 2" long in medium worsted weight (4) and 3.5 mm hook, but adapts well to any yarn size and you can make arms and legs as long or short as you want.
Social media likes and shares are always appreciated. I love seeing your projects! I'm @suettle on Ribblr, Ravelry, and Instagram, suettle rhymes with noodle.
You are welcome to use these limbs/techniques on finished makes to sell. You may incorporate this technique into patterns of your own design (using your own words and images), but must give credit for and/or link to this original design and/or video. You may not copy-paste/plagiarize from this pattern; if you like it that much, share the love by linking and giving credit!
For safety, crocheted toys should be discarded if they become damaged from vigorous play.
