Sample pictured is made with Arkaik Fibres Fremont Tweed in the color World Waits. The pattern is written for 2 skeins of a single color, but you could stripe this - the pattern includes instructions for switching skeins, to avoid pooling with the single color, and you can easily use those instructions to stripe this with multiple colors.

This pattern is great for a confident beginner. I wouldn't make this as your first project, but you don't need to have a lot of experience to make it. Basic stitches you'll need to know - double crochet, slip stitch, extended single crochet, extended single crochet decrease.
