Description
Life needs a few more polka dots !
This crochet pattern will guide you to crochet a tea cosy as shown in pictures, made using soft acrylic yarn (wool or cotton will be suitable too) and crochet hook G (4 mm).
Size of this tea cosy will be approx. 6.7" (17 cm) tall. This is a great project for using up your scraps of yarn, because of the colored bobble stitches.
There will be an opening above the handle to insert your teapot easily, with a sewing snap button closure. It will be covered by the flower with butterfly.
The pattern is suitable for any standard model teapot, 1.1 Liter, circumference approx. 15.75" (40 cm), measured around the widest part of the pot, excl. the spout and handle.
Gauge (approx.): 5 single crochet = 1 inch (2,5 cm)
Stitches used:
slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, bobble stitch (instructions included)
Materials used:
- crochet hook size G (4 mm)
- yarn in black (approx. 50 gram)
- small amounts of yarn for 8 rows bobble stitches, flower and butterfly; any colors you choose
- stitch marker, tapestry needle, pins, standard size teapot, 1.1 Liter
- 1 sewing snap button, diameter 0,06" (1,4 cm)
Skill level: advanced beginner
