Description
Hello! Please read the full intro for info and notes on materials and sizing
Welcome to the crochet version of the Soleil Top! This pattern includes some customizations that I added after making the first Knit Soleil Top, such as different constructions for the body (namely, the back closures.) This top is made with worsted weight 4 yarn and crocheted with a 5mm hook. I strongly suggest you make a gauge swatch before you start.

I would say that the most difficult part of this pattern is tapering your decreases/where to place your short rows for the one shoulder strap and sleeve opening!

This is only my second full-fledged crochet pattern! (And the first in 2 yearsomg) The techniques you'll need to know are below. You'll be able to recreate this top to your specific and personalized size in 3 to 4 weeks! (This includes time to stretch and relax your hands; don't make my mistake, you'll need it!)

Kindly take a look at my copyright statement on the last page of this pattern. Please respect my copyright to support my work and help me carry on with my fiber creations. If you decide to post pictures or videos of your finished top, please link back to this pattern, tag me @SeamsbySky, and use the hashtag #CrochetSoleilTop. I'd love to see how yours turns out!

Level of difficulty: advanced beginner/intermediate

Sizing: This top is written for a size S, includes suggested stitch counts and instructions for sizes XS to 5XL as well, AND has a link to the stitch calculator that can determine stitch counts/how much yardage you need to customize for your own measurements. The finished and blocked top is intended to be fairly fitted to your body
***This top has been tested for sizes XS-2XL and 5XL, with sizing and customization proving accurate. Unfortunately sizes 3XL-4XL have not been tested due to a lack of applicants, but sizing should also be accurate. If you usually crochet for a size 3XL and 4XL and would like to try your hand at this top, please message me for a free copy***

Skills required:
Basic crochet skills, knowledge of crochet stitches (chain, foundation single crochet, single crochet, double crochet, [suzette stitch], short row, increase, decrease, slip stitch), basic hand sewing skills/mattress stitch

Materials
Yarns
4 (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9, 10) balls of Hobbii's Friends Wool OR a similar worsted weight 4 yarn. The approximate amount of yardage has been calculated for you; given the circumstance that the top is about 17 inches long from your overbust to your waist, you will need 422.45 (364.161/450, 513.876/700, 569.483/900, 709.07, 813.308, 892.458, 973.286, 968.015) yards.
NOTE: These are suggested measurements based on the sizing charts and an estimated length from your waist to your shoulder. As this pattern is made to measure, you may use more or less yarn depending on the length of your torso and how big you want your sleeve to be/how long you want your top to be. The stitch calculator has been provided to help you determine exactly how much yarn you need
NOTE #2: When using the stitch calculator, be sure to adjust your gauge stitches and yarn information before inputting your measurements. At the end of the calculator, you will find that it also tells you how many yards and skeins you'll need for your top :)
