You will need to know:

chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), half double crochet (hdc), slip stitch (sl), hdc 2 tog

The griddle stitch (also known as the lemon peel): ch an even amount, block chain, ch 3, sc in 4th chain from hook, dc in the next, alternate sc and dc, end row in a sc in the center turning chain, ch 3 (this counts as first dc), turn work, skip first stich, sc in 1st dc from the chain. Repeat.

Hdc 2 tog: yarn over, insert hook, grab yarn, pull up (3 loops on hook), yarn over, insert, pull up, (5 loops on hook), pull through all
