Materials
Yarns
I used an 85% Merino wool/ 15% Silk blend Dk weight yarn (Uru.yarn Silk DK from Knitcrate), but any animal fiber blended yarn, or soft acrylic in sport or Dk weight should be fine. I do not recommend cotton or plant fiber yarns, as they dont have much stretch.
Below are a few yarn suggestions based on budget:
Sugar Bush Yarn Bliss $$
Paintbox Simply DK $

Approximate yardage (Since this top is so variable depending on style and desired length, the yardage is estimated and based on recommended yarn and hook size for a crop top length): 500 - 600yds for up to a 36 inch chest, adding about 16 - 20 yds for each additional chest inch of width
Hooks
US size 3.5mm and US size 6mm
*You can use whichever hook size you like as long as one is about 2 and a half sizes up from the other. Also make sure the hook sizes of your choice are proportional to the yarn you select. I recommend a small hook for the panel (for more full coverage), and the larger hook for the sleeves (to create the lacey effect)*
Notions
Measuring tape, Scissors, 2-3 yds of a contrasting color scrap yarn, Stitch markers (optional)
