Materials
Yarns
You can use any weight and any size yarn for this pattern! However, I recommend worsted weight or smaller yarn for optimal results.

Amount of yarn needed
The amount of yarn you need depends on what kind of yarn you use and your measurements. Average yardages needed per weight of yarn for an adult-sized beanie is listed for your reference: Fingering (300-375), Sport (250-350), DK (130-250), Worsted 125-225).
While you can use any weight yarn, Everyday Merino was used to create the samples shown throughout the pattern. It is a superwash wortsted weight yarn, which you can shop by clicking here. (Please note that this is an affiliate link. If you make a purchase after clicking, I earn some yarn money at no extra cost to you!)
Needles
You can use any size needles for this pattern. I recommend using a needle size that creates a nice fabric with the yarn you‘ve chosen to work with.

Once you determine your main needle size, you will also need one set of needles a size smaller (0.5mm sized down) for working the folded brim. Sizing down your needles for the brim will help it fit more snugly. In terms of types of needles, you will need:
- 16” circular needles
- double pointed needles (DPNs) OR 36”+ circular needles to use with the magic loop method
