What materials are needed for The Staple Sock?
To make The Staple Sock you will need: Optional contrast color for the cuff, heel, and toe. Tips are provided within the pattern for when to switch between colors A and B., You can use any weight and any size yarn for this pattern! However, I highly recommend using dedicated sock yarn for optimal results. Not only is sock yarn typically a comfortable weight for socks, but it usually consists of about 70-80% wool and 30-20% nylon (or other synthetic fibers). This composition makes the socks extremely durable, elastic, and long lasting.Amount of yarn needed:The amount of yarn you need will depend on your measurements as well as how tall you make your socks. However, most socks can be made with 100g or less of sock yarn. If you@qre making very tall socks or socks for very large feet, you may need up to 150g., - Stitch Markers (ideally lightbulb st markers) in 3 different colors- Tapestry Needle- Scissors- Measuring Tape. Tools required: You can use any size needles for this pattern. I recommend using a needle size that creates a nice fabric with the sock yarn you@qve chosen to work with.Once you determine your main needle size, you will also need one set of needles a size smaller for working the folded cuff. Sizing down your needles for the cuff will help make it more fitted. In terms of types of needles, you can use:- 9@Q circular needles*- Double pointed needles (DPNs)- 36@Q+ circular needles to use with the magic loop method*Please note that if you use 9@Q circular needles, you will also need to use either DPNs or 36@Q+ circular needles as we decrease for the toe..
