My spouse and youngest kiddo (19 mo at the publication of this pattern) love Don Bluth's "The Land Before Time".
So much so that when we were at the thrift store (op shop/charity shop) and spotted a vintage LittleFoot plush, I knew there was no way we could leave him behind.
Now
I'm extremely extra, especially when the interests of me and my loved ones intersect, so I decided that the best way to complete the magic would be to make a mini tree star blanket that was just about the right size for the plush, with nebulous plans to make a larger one for my toddler.
So here we are
This pattern can be worked with any yarn and (mostly) matching hook gauge, and can be easily modified to be any size.
It also has the flexibility to have a blue "water" center or not, and likewise can be made with variegated or solid yarn. The limit is your imagination (and yarn budget)
For the mini blanket, I used a 3.125 D hook and a variegated lime green cotton thread from the Joann brand "K&C" with a sparkly variegated blue cotton thread from the same company.
For the larger one, I'm not doing a water center (but I'll let you know where a good spot to change colors should **you** want to do it) and I'm using a 5mm H hook and the yarn is an acrylic olive green from Lion Brand's Pound of Love line.
But again, you can use any yarn and matching hook for this project
